Your data
Your days belong to you.
Sundial keeps only what it needs to do its job, and nothing more. Here is the honest picture.
What Sundial keeps
A light footprint.
Three things, and only three things.
01
Your day-shape
The description of the ordinary day you wish you had. This is the heart of what Sundial does, and it belongs entirely to you.
02
The rough rhythm of your days
Broad patterns, not a second-by-second log. Sundial learns general shape, not the content of your messages or meetings.
03
How you respond to nudges
Whether a nudge landed, was dismissed, or was ignored. This is how Sundial learns what actually works for you over time.
What Sundial does not need
The things we leave alone.
- The content of your messages, emails, or documents
- Your location, beyond an optional timezone for nudge timing
- Any health or medical information
- Payment details, which are handled entirely by Stripe
- Anything you have not explicitly shared with Sundial
Our commitments
How your data is protected.
Five things that are true about your data at Sundial, stated plainly.
Encrypted at rest and in transit
Your data is encrypted on disk and over the wire. Nobody at Sundial reads your day-shape unless you share it with us in a support conversation.
Never sold
Your data is not a product. It is not shared with advertisers, partners, or data brokers. It never will be. That is a founding commitment, not a policy that can be quietly revised.
Exportable any time
You can download everything Sundial knows about you at any time, in a plain format you can read. No waiting period, no hoops.
Minimal by design
Sundial is built to need as little as possible. The nudge engine works from broad rhythm, not detailed surveillance. Less data is a feature, not a limitation.
Yours to delete
Deleting your account removes everything: your day-shape, your history, your nudge responses. It is permanent, complete, and immediate.
